- W2009046869 abstract "Low-energy neutron spectra from the reaction 2(n, 2n)1H have been measured at a neutron bombarding energy of 14 MeV for fixed energy thresholds of the break-up protons. By choosing a scattering angle of 70° for the neutrons, only events were recorded, for which in the c.m. system a forward-going proton corresponds to backwards emitted neutrons with low relative momentum. Configurations of this kind are governed by n-n final-state interactions. The reaction took place in a deuterated scintillator which served to fix the proton energy threshold. The measured neutron time-of-flight spectra for three different proton thresholds of 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 MeV were analysed by a Monte Carlo method using the Born approximation for the calculation of the break-up cross section. A value of ann = −16.2 ± 2.2 fm was found to give best agreement with the experiment." @default.
