The critical temperatures Tc are in the range of 2.7 K to 5.4 K. Magnetization measurements were used to determine the bulk critical temperature Tc and the thermodynamic critical field Hc (T). In dependence of the ionic radius r of A, Tc exhibits a maximum at r ≈ 1.1 Å in both the alkali and alkaline earth series. No correlation was found between Tc and the basal spacing d of the hydrated phases. It is concluded that the potential twodimensional superconductivity in these compounds is essentially characterized by participation of the interlayer cation." @default.
