- W2009968961 abstract "The chemical composition of the unicellular Chlamydomonas, Chlorella, Glocystis and Oöcystis algae grown in batch culture with synthetic medium and waste water effluent is reported. All algal biomasses contained the essential amino acids as specified in FAO standards, but were low in sulphur-containing amino acids. Gas chromatographic analysis of hydrolyzed cellular carbohydrates revealed that D-glucose was a major component. The main fatty acids were palmitic, oleic and linolenic acids. The mineral composition of algae was also determined. From the standpoint of potential animal and human nutrition, Oöcystis alga is a promising organism for mass culture. Les algues unicellulaires Chlamydomonas, Chlorella, Glocystis et Oöcystis ont été cultivées en vrac è partir d'eaux usées et d'un milieu synthétique. Les résultats d'analyses de la composition chimique de la biomasse récupérée sont donnés. Les algues contiennent tous les acidés amines essentiels comparativement aux normes établies par la FAO. Cependant, on note que les acides aminés soufrés sont en concentration relativement faible. Les résultats d'analyse des glucides par chromatographic en phase gazeuse démontrent que le D-glucose est le constituant majeur. Les princi-paux acides gras mesurés sont les acides palmitique, oléique et linolénique. La composition minérale des algues est présentée. II semble que l'algue Oöcystis possède les caractéristiques requises permettant une production intensive pour l'alimentation animale et humaine." @default.
