- W2010103399 abstract "The energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction pattern of liquid tellurium has been measured at pressures of 4.2–5.4 GPa and temperatures 510–660°C, using synchrotron radiation and a cubic-type high-pressure apparatus. The temperature dependence of the diffraction pattern at 4.2 GPa shows an anomalous peak shift around 560°C whose direction is opposite to that expected from the thermal expansion. This shift is consistent with the result of recent electrical and thermal measurements, which concludes there exists a first-order phase transition of liquid tellurium. The difference between the diffraction patterns above and below the boundary temperature is not large. It mainly appears in the width and the position of the first peak. The volume change has been estimated from the shift of the first peak assuming a uniform contraction. The value obtained is consistent with the result of the thermal measurement." @default.
