Island growth proceeds via homogeneous nucleation, and subsequent aggregation at a fixed height of $ensuremath{sim}1phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}mathrm{nm}$, giving a two-dimensional growth mode with a lateral growth rate that is independent of coverage and depends only on the flux, within the range of this study.
