- W2010868062 abstract "After more than two decades of attempting to make the shift from bibliographic instruction to information literacy, with many successes and a growing body of literature, librarians still face challenges in providing the best educational opportunities for faculty and students. One possible avenue to help us face these challenges is to expend more energy on advocacy and faculty training. This article details a project that trained twenty-nine prospective faculty members in information literacy concepts and practices. In collaboration with a music faculty member teaching a graduate-level course, Teaching Music in Higher Education, the librarian was able to present a session on Information Literacy in the Music Curriculum: Teaching in the Information Age. Since the course was designed to assist graduate students—several who were already teaching their own courses—in making the transition to becoming music faculty, the presentation was advantageously placed to positively affect current and future faculty. Also included is a list of faculty training resources along with suggestions for furthering information literacy advocacy in the field of music." @default.
