Loss reductions of up to 18% are possible when using the techniques on suitable materials. In order to obtain the lowest iron loss, it is necessary to use high B8 and thinner gauge material. Also good wound core loss performance was obtained by using small non-cut rectangular wound cores. Especially, in the case of thinner gauge (7 mil thickness), the mean value of the core losses was 0.221 W/lb at 1.3 T/60 Hz. This value is about 1.5 times that of the amorphous transformer. The magnetostriction characteristics of the material are almost the same as that of the commercial HI-B." @default.
