- W2011196624 abstract "Literature on aphasia in left-handers has frequently underlined the frequency of occurrence after right-hemisphere lesion, the paucity of the clinical pictures and the transitoriness of the disorder. The same questions have attracted attention in the study of acquired aphasia in children. In this paper the literature on lateralization of lesion, clinical aspects and recovery of aphasia in left-handers and in children is reviewed. Results of two experimental studies are also reported. In the first study the clinical aspects and recovery in non-right-handed aphasics are compared with those in standard right-handed aphasics. The second study reports data on the clinical aspects and recovery of 31 traumatic aphasic children compared to a group of adult traumatic aphasics." @default.
