Other measurements for γsv and their errors are taken into account in this recommendation. The major source of this error is the difficulty of accurately measuring the dihedral angle φ. The dependence of the surface energy (γsv)x on the O:M ratio 2 ± x is given by (γsv)x − γsv = 6.8x J/m2 (0.000 ≤ x < + 0.050), (0 < T < 1900°C), with an estimated accuracy of ± 15% The effective surface energy in pores (γp) is different from that on free surfaces and is given by γp = 0.41γsv (0 < T < 2850°C).
