Abstract Opacities and monochromatic absorption coefficients, including the effects of line absorption, are given for a mixture (X = 0.596, V = 0.384, Z = 0.020) of astrophysical interest at itt temperature- density points. The methods used for these calculations are described, and comparisons with previously published continuous opacities are made. For the mixture, transport of energy by electron conduction can be considered simultaneously with radiation diffusion by using the tabulated effective or total opacity. The radiative opacity, including lines, which is not very sensitive to the uncertain line shapes and widths, is sometimes more than three times larger than the radiative opacity due only to continuous (bound-free, free-free, electron scattering, and H- ion and molecular absorptions) processes. Included is a discussion on the variation of the radiative opacity with the hydrogen content of the mixture.
