The polybutadiene grafting efficiency depended on the structure of the polymer. For 1,2-polybutadiene, the grafting efficiency was 56%, while for cis-1,4-polybutadiene it was only 14%. For comparison, 2-(2-hydroxy-5-vinylphenyl)-2H-benzo-triazole was also homopolymerized, not only with AIBN, but also with benzoyl peroxide as the initiator.
