- W2012149888 abstract "Abstract In recent years there has been increased interest into the nature of worry. While closely related to neuroticism, worry is considered to be a separate construct. However, few studies have been conducted which investigate the combination of factors, in addition to neuroticism, that best predict worry. Using a hierarchical regression procedure, the present study attempted to determine which factors best predict worry after differences in levels of neuroticism have been taken into consideration. One hundred twenty-five adults completed the Worry Domains Questionnaire, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, Spheres of Control scale, Self-consciousness scale and the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire. Interpersonal control, public self-consciousness and number of cognitive failures were found to add significantly to the prediction of worry. The implications of these results are discussed in light of current theories of worry and future research." @default.
