- W2012255540 abstract "The production of intense polarized hydrogen atomic beams for the use in polarized ion sources, polarized jet target and storage cells has been investigated. A cooling system to accommodate the beam in a useful flow mode and temperature range for the atomic beams has been designed. The results obtained by variation of the geometrical parameters provide the criteria for the choice of an optimal configuration of the beam production elements. Intensities, densities and velocity distributions of the produced beams have been measured. An intensity of I ≅ 1017 atoms/s and a density of 2 × 1012 atoms/cm3 have been measured at the exit of the atomic beam stage. Using this slow atomic beam (T = 35 K) on the ETH polarized ion source dc intensities of 0.4 mA for polarized positive and 16 μA negative ion beams have been observed." @default.
