Possible reasons for this are proposed. High grazing intensity in early summer increased the percentage of paspalum (Paspalum dilatatum Poir.) at the expense of ‘Grasslands Nui’ ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.). The effect was marked where hard grazing was continued throughout the summer.
