Well known examples are provided by WO3 (ReO3 like structure) and MoO3 (layer structure).—In the present work hydrogen insertion compounds formed by the simple and mixed oxides in the (Mo, W)O3 system are discussed. Structural information has been obtained for a number of compounds using elastic and inelastic neutron scattering and the bonding of the inserted hydrogen is discussed. Thermochemical measurements have been made and the enthalpies of hydrogen insertion into the oxides determined; these are compared with the Gibbs free energies determined from electrochemical measurements." @default.
