- W2012604983 abstract "Abstract A series of six poly(pyrrole‐metal) complexes were synthesized. The metals used were Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Hg. The synthesis was carried out by reacting 2‐amino‐3,4‐dicyano‐5‐mercaptopyrrole with the metal salt. The products were characterized by elemental analyses, electronic spectra, FTIR, and thermal analysis. The DC electrical conductivity variation of polymer complexes was studied in the temperature range 300–500 K after annealing (24 hr at 100°C) and doping (5% I2). An attempt is made to correlate DC electrical conductivity, electronic property, and thermal properties to chain length, type of metal, and group. The poly(pyrrole‐copper) complex gave the highest electrical conductivity at ambient and higher temperatures (3.8 × 10−7 S cm−1).
