- W2012952020 abstract "Studies of the electrical conductance and the viscosity, among other properties, are of considerable importance to arriving at structural information on molten salts and aqueous solutions. Those studies are even more important when carried out with systems allowing the whole concentration range from fused salts to dilute aqueous solutions to be explored without too many technical difficulties. In the case of the salt—water systems for which sufficient experimental data are available, values of activation parameters for the electrical conductance and the viscous flow may be obtained by introducing simplifying assumptions in the use of equations based on the absolute reaction rate theory. The discussion of the activation parameters, and especially that on the difference between the entropy of activation for the viscous flow and the entropy of activation for the electrical conductance, confirms the usefulness of the hole concept in the investigations of the properties of an electrolyte, whatever its nature, molten salts of dilute aqueous solutions. It is also outlined that the basic Eyring equation from which the equations for the viscous flow and the electrical conductance are derived may directly be obtained assuming a hole to behave as a quantum particle." @default.
