In the calculation, the O+ ion production rate is used as a weighting value of the test particles. We consider photoionization, charge exchange and electron impact for the ionization processes. Trajectories of the pick-up ions are traced under the electric and magnetic field generated by a magneto-hydrodynamics simulation. We have found that structures of the electric and magnetic fields around the ionopause are critical to the amount of escape flux and to the nature of the non-gyrotropic distributions of pick-up ions in the plasma environment around Mars." @default.
