Relative K X-ray emission rates Kbeta /Kalpha of Sn, and Kalpha 2/Kalpha 1, Kbeta '1/Kalpha 1 and Kbeta '2/Kalpha 1 of Ho, Tm, Au, Pb and Bi are also given. The semiclassical description of the Coulomb ionisation using relativistic hydrogenic electron wavefunctions has to be supplemented by binding and polarisation corrections to yield satisfactory agreement with the K-shell cross section over the whole projectile velocity range. The experimental relative X-ray emission rates are accurately reproduced by relativistic Hartree-Fock calculations including exchange corrections.
