Positive results were produced by early efforts to adapt the person-organization fit concept to public service motivation studies. It is suggested that the person-organization fit mediates the relationship between public service motivation, individual turnover intentions and employee job satisfaction. Organizations are urged to be careful to hire employees who fit well with the organization and its goals and values.
