- W2014129069 abstract "Abstract Experimental measurements of nitric oxide reduction by ammonia injection into combustion products are reported. A uniform combustion effluent was supplied by a flat flame of methane, oxygen, argon, and ammonia (to generate NO in the products). Secondary ammonia was introduced through a secondary diffusion jet downstream of the primary flame. Axial and radial profiles of temperature and stable species concentration characterizing the mixing of ammonia with the combustion product stream and the reduction of NO were measured. An NH 3 consumption rate in excess of twice that of NO was observed. The final products of the reaction were N 2 and H 2 O with no noxious byproducts detected except carbon monoxide. The overall nitrogen balance showed that 93% of the input nitrogen was accounted for in the measured nitrogenous products." @default.
