MCAK is localized to inner centromeres, kinetochores and spindle poles of mitotic cells, and is also present in the cytoplasm. Both in interphase and in mitosis, MCAK can specifically accumulate at the growing microtubule ends. Here we discuss the mechanisms, which modulate subcellular localization and activity of MCAK through the interaction with the End Binding (EB) proteins and phosphorylation." @default.
