A numerical method based on self-consistent theory, namely the self-consistent finite element method, is developed. This new method can be applied to finding the determination of the effective properties of multiphase media with arbitrarily shaped and anisotropic inclusions. Applications to fibre composites demonstrate the implementation and accuracy of the method. This method can be extended to the elastoplastic and finite deformation case." @default.
