It was found that the amorphization process is caused by grain refinement. A strict correlation between the milling energy and amount of amorphous phase obtained was determined. The effect of oxygen on the amorphization process was investigated. No correlation was found between the level of oxygen contamination and the formation of the amorphous phase.
