Anscheinend verursacht die Verabreichung von Pyozinen nur Schaden bei den Mäusen. Die gleichzeitige Inokulation von Pyozindosen und von S. typhimurium ‐Stämmen beim gleichen Individuum gewährt den Mäusen eine Überlebenszeit, die 5 bis 8 Tage beträgt. Nach der Nekropsie der geschützten Mäuse sah man, daß die Tiere Leberveränderungen aufwiesen; die eigentliche Todesursache sowie die Rückwirkungen konnten unsererseits bisher nicht aufgeklärt werden. The clones which were pyocin‐sensitive were inoculated into mice where they resulted in death within 2–5 days. Administering the pyocins appeared to produce no damage in the mice. Inoculation of doses of pyocin along with strains of Salm. typhimurium into the same individual mouse resulted in survival for 5–8 days longer and in some mice this was followed by permanent recovery. However, necropsy of the protected mice showed that there were hepatic lesions, the causes and consequences of which could not be determined. Resumen Efectos biológicos de las piocinas sobre las cepas de Salmonella typhimurium inoculadas a ratones Se estudió la actividad in vitro de 4 piocinas sobre las estirpes de Salmonella typhimurium. Los clones, que resultaron ser piocina‐sensibles, se inocularon a los ratones provocando letalidad total entre 2 y 5 días. Al parecer, la provisión de piocinas no provoca más que daños en los ratones. La inoculación conjunta de dosis de piocina y de estirpes de S. typhimurium en un mismo individuo otorgan a los ratones una supervivencia superior de 5 a 8 días. Tras necropsiar los ratones protegidos, se vió que era debida a lesiones hepáticas; todavía no pudimos establecer las causas y la repercusión." @default.
