- W2014986358 abstract "The resilient modulus (MR) of pavement subgrade is a critical parameter in pavement design. Due to the seasonal variation in the water table in Shanghai, China, the soil tension (Ts) and the resilient modulus of pavement subgrade also change with the season. In this paper, a relationship was established between MR and Ts based on the laboratory test results, and a new procedure was developed to monitor and predict the resilient modulus of pavement subgrade from soil tension. To validate the developed procedure, a field testing was conducted on a road section and AASHTO equation and the computer program, MODULUS, were selected to backcalculate the resilient modulus using the field test results. Based on the comparison between the backcalculated moduli with the those derived from soil tensions, a corrective coefficient was suggested for pavement design when using MODULUS program to backcalculate subgrade modulus." @default.
