- W2015117443 abstract "A calculation scheme has been proposed in which the influence of the microscopic structure of metal surfaces on the optical reflection coefficients and dispersion law for surface plasmons are taken into account. The integral equations are so reconstructed that they only contain the electromagnetic field components which vary slowly near the metal surface. The inclusion of additional boundary conditions, a question intensively being discussed in the literature, is thus avoided. The quantities observed have been expressed in terms of the spectral characteristics of a bulk metal and the integral characteristics of the surface. The method proposed is applicable to solve specific problems: (i) to calculate the optical characteristics in the hydrodynamic model of metal, and (ii) to elucidate the influence of the surface structure on the dispersion of surface plasmons. The results obtained have been compared with the experimentally measured dependence of the surface plasmon frequency on the potential drop in electrochemical systems." @default.
