- W2015583387 abstract "Coal plays a vital role in the economic development of the world as the primary energy. In recent years, hazardous elements emission from coal utilization has attracted considerable public concern due to its negative effects on human health and the ecosystem. During the whole process of coal utilization, coal preparation and separation is an initial and crucial stage for hazards emission control. Gravity dry separation technologies, as representative sorting methods, have advantages of high separation efficiency, water conservation, low investments, etc. Despite extensive industrial applications about a century, there also remain the limitations to overcome for the coal upgrading. Thus, this review overviews the recent progress of present gravity dry separation technologies, including the theoretical and application development. Further, the technical parameters are selected for comparing the superior and inferior of various technologies. The results showed that gravity dry Separation technologies have realized 6–100 mm coal upgrading in industrial application. Based on the above analysis, we provide an outlook on primary research emphasis in the future: (i) Development of −6mm fine coal separation technologies; (ii) Solution to the problem of moisture on the separation; (iii) Scale-up of gravity dry separation technologies;(iv) Combination of intelligent technology and dry separation technologies." @default.
