- W2015809729 abstract "Abstract The study of lipid metabolism in toxic hepatitis induced by FV3 enabled us to demonstrate, 10 hr after inoculation of a 100% lethal dose of viral particles: (1) A decrease in plasma lipid concentration, as well as a 50% diminution of nonesterified fatty acids; (2) An alteration of plasma lipoprotein profile characterized by decreases in VLDL, LDL, and HDL lipids (VLDL triacylglycerol being most affected) and in the apoprotein concentration in these lipoproteins; (3) A decrease of [ 14 C]palmitic acid and [ 3 H]leucine incorporation into the lipid and protein moieties of the three plasma lipoprotein fractions without specific changes in apolipoprotein composition; (4) That the lipid composition of infected mouse liver did not reveal any significant difference as compared to control mice, except for an increase of [ 14 C]palmitic acid incorporation into liver phospholipids which occurred mainly in the microsomal fraction. The absence of fatty liver may be explained by the decrease of plasma nonesterified fatty acids as compared to other examples of toxic or viral hepatitis." @default.
