Small (10°) saccades are usually normometric, but accuracy decreases with larger amplitudes producing undershoots of the fixation targets. Les petites saccades (10°) sont généralement normométriques mais la précision diminue aux amplitudes plus grandes, avec déplacement inférieuràcelui du point de fixation. Environ 20 pour cent des saccades de 20° et 30° sont dysconjugées d'une façon transitoire de 1°–3°àla fin du mouvement. Le cas le plus fréquent est une convergence excessive due au dépassement momentanéde l'œil adducteur ou au déplacement insuffisant de l'autre oeil. Les auteurs mettent en question l'interprétation inviolée de la loi de Hering et discutent les mécanismes de dysconjugaisonsàla lumière des concepts actuels sur la neurophysiologie des mouvements des yeux. An 25 normalsichtigen Probanden wurden ausführliche elektro-oculographische Aufzeichnungen gemacht. Daraus wurden die metrischen Eigenschaften horizontaler Saucaden bestimmt und ausgewertet. Kleine Sakkaden (10°) sind gewöhnlich normometrisch, bei grösseren Amplitude nimmt die Genauigkeit ab, und die Fixationsmarke wird nicht mehr erreicht. Etwa 20 Prozent der 20°- und 30°-Sakkaden haben am Ende kurzzeitig eine Deckungsungleichheit von 1°–3°. In einem typischen Beispiel dafür findet man eine starke Konvergenz, die von einerüberschwingenden Bewegung des führenden Auges und einer unterschwingenden Bewegung des nachlaufenden Auges herrührt. Die Verfasser stellen die uneingeschränkte Gültigkeit der Heringschen Regel in Frage und diskutieren den Mechanismus des Deckungsungleichgewichtes aufgrund der derzeitigen neurophysiologischen Vorstellungenüber Augenbewegungen.
