Using the sorption isotherm we calculated the specific surface, volume and mean effective radius of submicroscopical pores, the values decreasing in the order viscose silk>cellulose of cotton fibre>flax>ramie. The values obtained for the specific surface and pore volume for the graft copolymers are lower than those for the original samples. In the case of the modified preparations of cellulose with PMMA the mean effective submicroscopical pore radius based on the sorption of hexane is larger, and this is due to the stopping-up of the micropores, rendering them inaccessible to hexane." @default.
