- W2015944874 abstract "Pulsed magnetic fields have been applied to fibroblasts in culture, and were found to modify their metabolism in a specific fashion. No change in growth rate was observed, but the production of collagen was enhanced relative to other proteins. Considerable intracellular degradation of collagen occurred prior to secretion of the newly-synthesised protein, and pulsed magnetic fields appeared to act by reducing intracellular degradation rather than increasing the total activity of the collagen synthetic pathway. This effect most probably resulted from modification of cyclic adenosine monophosphate metabolism." @default.
