- W2015949316 abstract "Abstract The evolution profiles of the products of linear temperature programmed pyrolysis of polymers contain much useful information about composition and thermal decomposition reactions. Effective retrieval of this information can be enhanced by appropriate data processing. Three techniques are described for treatment of evolution profiles constructed from infrared spectral data. The processes examined are (1) differentiation, for complex profiles; (2) profile subtraction, when there are no suitable IR absorption bands free from interferences; and (3) band segment profile comparison, for detection of minor components in the presence of large amount of a similar compound. The general usefulness of evolution profiles, and their enhancement are illustrated by reference to the pyrolysis of polyurethanes and poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymers." @default.
