Two drop diffusion models were used—the Newman rigid drop, and the Handlos-Baron turbulent-circulating drop. Algorithms were developed which gave accurate and rapid solutions of the model equations. Mass transfer rates in a Pilot Plant Rotating Disc Contactor were predicted for comparison with experimental data and with rates predicted by approximate calculation methods. The latter were found to be 20–30% below the exact solution values." @default.
