- W2016033836 abstract "Abstract Using the group theoretical methods of our earlier work a theory of the electron spin relaxation resulting from fast modulation of zero-field splitting via discrete rotational jumps of isolated paramagnetic centers in crystals is developed. The relaxation matrix approach is applied to obtain analytical formulae for the normalized line shape function and relaxation matrix elements. The theory is used to the study of EPR spectra of transition metal centers ( S = 1, 3 2 , 2, 5 2 ) undergoing ( π 2 )-rotational jumps about three orthogonal axes.
