- W2016043224 abstract "We have investigated the effects of annealing on the microstructure and JC of MgB2/stainless steel (SUS316) tapes and wires. We fabricated these tapes using a powder-in-tube method with various annealing temperatures and times. The transport current density obtained was as high as 2700 A/cm2 at 4.2 K and 10 T in MgB2/SUS316 tapes annealed at 700 °C. A large increase of JC was obtained for the wide temperature range between 400 and 800 °C and a very short annealing time of ∼1 s. The microstructure observation indicated that these JC increases are due to the improved linkage of MgB2 grains. The annealing temperature range and time were much lower and shorter, respectively, for MgB2/SUS316 tapes than for MgB2/Fe tapes." @default.
