From the lifetime measurements versus the concentration of active ions and the temperature variation from liquid helium temperature to 800 K, evidence for multiphonon de-excitation processes is found. The influence of five phonons of 360 cm−1 for 5D1–5D0 de-excitation, six phonons of 420 cm−1 for 5D2–5D1, permits the calculation of the rate constant at 0 K for each level." @default.
