- W2016208025 abstract "The ultrastructure of the mast-cell granule was studied in skin specimens of urticaria pigmentosa. The granules showed mainly two structural components, i.e., lamellae of a maximal width of 125 Å and a fine granular material. The mature granules showed parallel-arranged lamellae, each of which had a periodicity of 60 Å. The lamellae formed multilayered scrolls with 90 Å between the layers. Around the lamellae or in the center of the scrolls an electron dense fine granular material was found. A crystalline structure was seen in parts of the fine granular or almost homogeneous material. In the skin of urticaria pigmentosa mast cells showed various degrees of degranulation. In comparison with the basophilic leukocyte, and the chromaffin cell, the lamellar structures were found characteristic of human mast-cell granules." @default.
