Celem pracy było prześledzenie objawów klinicznych toksokarozy u pacjentów z potwierdzonym zakażeniem badanych na Oddziale Hospitalizacji Jednego Dnia IMID. W latach 2008–2009 na OHJD toksokarozę rozpoznano u 26 dzieci w wieku od 14 miesięcy do 14 lat. Analizowano przyczyny wykonania badań w kierunku toksokarozy, zgłaszane dolegliwości, objawy kliniczne, odchylenia w badaniach dodatkowych, miejsce zamieszkania i kontakt ze zwierzętami. Zarażenie potwierdzono testem serologicznym ELISA IgG z antygenami Toxocara spp. Dodatni wynik ELISA IgG stwierdzono u 26/32 dzieci. Index IgG wynosił od 1,26 do 4,52. W grupie tej było 11 dziewcząt i 15 chłopców. 17 dzieci mieszkało w mieście, dziewięcioro pochodziło ze środowiska wiejskiego. U 13/26 pacjentów w domu były zwierzęta. U wszystkich zakażonych pacjentów obserwowano niespecyficzne objawy. Objawy zarażenia Toxocara mogą być różnorodne. U pacjentów z bólami głowy, brzucha, przewlekłym uczuciem zmęczenia, nasilonymi objawami alergii, eozynofilią, podwyższonym stężeniem IgE należy uwzględnić współistnienie toksokarozy. Wskazania do leczenia ustalane są indywidualnie. Dzieci z rozpoznaną toksokarozą powinny być objęte opieką poradni chorób odzwierzęcych przez okres około 10 lat. Toxocariasis is a common human helminthiasis caused by infection of Toxocara spp, affecting children and adults at any age. Wide spectrum of nonspecific clinical signs and symptoms could be observed. Diagnosis was confirmed by positive specific antibodies (ELISA). Indications for treatment should be individualized depends on age, symptoms and form of toxocarosis. The aim of our study was to present clinical manifestations of Toxocara infection in patients of One-Day Hospitalization Ward. There were 26 children in age 14 months-14 years with Toxocara infection, confirmed by specific IgG antibodies (ELISA). Analyzed factors included: reasons for Toxocara testing, clinical signs and symptoms, laboratory abnormalities, place of residence, pets contacts. Specific IgG antibodies (ELISA) were diagnosed in 26 patients (index 1.26–4.52). There were 11 girls and 15 boys, seventeen from urban and nine from rural areas. Thirteen patients had contacts with pets. All patients with Toxocara infection presented nonspecific clinical signs and symptoms. About half seropositive children (12/26) presented symptoms of allergy: bronchial asthma, skin and nasal allergy. Toxocariasis in children may be mimic by many nonspecific clinical signs and symptoms. It should be suspected in such symptoms as: abdominal pain, headache, skin allergy, chronic caught, chronic fatigue and also increased levels of the IgE and eosinophilia were observed. Medical history of patients, economical status of family and animal contacts are also very important in the diagnostic process. Indications for treatment should be individualized. Children with Toxocara infection should be observed by ten years." @default.
