- W2016529281 abstract "Abstract Measurements of the evolution of crystallite size during pyrolysis and hydropyrolysis of a Belgian Beringen coal have shown that there is no direct relationship between active site concentration and crystallite dimensions. By direct analysis of the gas evolved during pyrolysis and hydropyrolysis, it has been proved that the important methane formation occurring during devolatilization at 900 °C under 4 MPa H2 preceded by carbonization at atmospheric pressure in inert gas, is attributable essentially to rapid gasification of the active sites made accessible by the precarbonization. Thermal effects occurring during pyrolysis in inert gas and hydropyrolysis have been compared. Beringen coal pyrolysis under a helium atmosphere is purely endothermic whereas the global reaction heat for hydropyrolysis is highly exothermic." @default.
