- W2017016920 abstract "Abstract Norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA), serotonin and acetylcholine (ACh) have been measured by mass fragmentography in discrete nuclei of the rat brain. Analyses were performed on single nuclei, isolated from microtome sections of frozen rat brain. The sample processed contained between 0.090 and 0.140 mg protein. In general, the mass fragmentographic results substantiate the location of catecholamines and serotonin described in histochemical reports but add quantitation to the mapping of the transmitters in single nuclei. Our measurements reveal that the precursor pool of DA in noradrenergic terminals is only a small percentage of the pool of NE. In caudate putamen, the distribution of the DA and ACh and their ratio varies along the major axis of the nucleus." @default.
