- W2017025462 abstract "This study characterizes the soil types on which natural stands of Quercus robur L. grow in northwest Spain. Nineteen edaphic parameters were obtained from the data collected in the sampling of 39 oak soils. Siliceous substrates were present in all of the stands, with granite and schist substrates being dominant. The soils on which the stands were grown were mainly Dystric cambisols. The values of the parameters that reflect the main chemical and biological soil properties [pH, organic matter, nitrogen (N), and carbon (C)/N ratio] were similar to the values considered optimal for these formations by other researchers. The exception was the values obtained for organic matter, which were slightly higher. The concentrations of nutrients in these soils were considered relatively low or medium as compared with the concentration of nutrients in soils under pine and eucalyptus forests in the study area, except phosphorus, which was considerably higher." @default.
