- W2017073253 abstract "The influence of some redox reagents on the flat band position of n-type SnS2 in aqueous solutions of different pH values has been investigated. The results indicate that the oxidized form of redox reagents (Fe(CN)3−6, I−3) react with interface surface states in sufficiently alkaline solutions and lead to the anodic decomposition of the electrode in the dark. The anodic decomposition is accompanied with a positive flat band shift. In acidic solutions, on the contrary, Fe(CN)3−6, I−3 and Fe3+ do not contribute to the electrode decomposition reaction. However, the oxidized form of couples with more positive redox potential (Br−3 and Ce4+) decomposes the electrode. The corrosion rate is lower in this case compared with alkaline solutions. Experimental evidence indicates that the decomposition takes place in two steps: the corrosion product is elemental sulfur which deposits on the surface." @default.
