- W2017084888 abstract "This article reviews recent developments in experimental evidences of spin–charge separation in one dimensional (1D) Mott insulators and related systems, focusing on angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) results. The ARPES spectra from ideal 1D Cu–O chain compounds SrCuO2 and Sr2CuO3 show broad features between k=0 and π/2 while only one feature is observed between π/2 and π. Numerical results based on the t−J model qualitatively explain many important aspects of the observed features, strongly suggesting the excited photo hole decays into spin and charge excitations. Supporting evidences from experiments with other techniques as well as different materials are reviewed. Finally, related issues in high temperature superconductivity are discussed." @default.
