- W2017166237 abstract "1. The pattern of five indicator enzymes of lysosomes, namely acid phosphatase, β-galactosidase, β-glucuronidase, arylsulphatase, and cathepsin D, during development was studied in the liver, kidney, and brain of the rat. 2. The activity of all liver enzymes increased during the neonatal period and decreased during the postnatal part of life. 3. Most of the kidney enzymes, except β-glucuronidase and β-galactosidase, reached peak activity between 5 and 10 days postnatally. β-Galactosidase increased at 5 days after birth and remained practically at that level throughout the rest of the period, whereas the other enzymes began to increase at 5 days and continued increasing until 30 days after birth. 4. The brain enzymes did not change significantly under the conditions of the experiment." @default.
