- W2017267920 abstract "Climatic factors, particularly precipitation and temperature, directly and indirectly influence kinds of weathering, pedogenesis, and geomorphic processes and, in turn, the kinds of soils and landforms that evolve from those processes. These views are inherent in a number of concepts that formulate geomorphic doctrine, and these beliefs are also the basis for recognition of morphogenetic regions. However, the “fully developed slope”, expounded by WOOD and KING, seems to evolve subaerially in all regions regardless of climatic impact. Somehow this fact has become buried as attention has become focused on more erudite matters such as “climatic geomorphology” and the views of “dynamic equilibrium”. Field examples are presented that occur on different materials in regions as climatically diverse as hot and dry to hot and wet. As described mathematically by a family of curves, the fully developed slopes are alike in kind and only differ in detail of expression. @default.
