- W2017339927 abstract "Abstract Energy levels below 1.5 MeV excitation energy in 45 Sc have been studied via Coulomb excitation with 4 He particles and via the inelastic proton scattering process. Cross-section measurements for E2 excitation of the 377, 720 and 1237 keV levels provided values for the B (E2)↑, of the upward transitions. Angular distribution measurements on the de-excitation gamma rays limited spin assignments to the levels and mixing ratios in the gamma transitions. The gamma rays observed after inelastic proton scattering clarified the decay schemes of most of the low levels: observation of conversion electrons that occurred in the decays of the 377, 543 and 720 keV states enabled spin and parity values of ( 3 2 , 5 2 ) − , 5 2 (+) and 5 2 − to be assigned to those levels. The scheme obtained for 45 Sc is compared to model predictions and the simi- larity to the structures of the other scandium isotopes suggests the usefulness of the mixing of two-hole configurations in the description of the natural parity levels." @default.
