The incorporation into these fractions was very low but an additional fraction, which was firmly bound to a protein structural support, was found to have a comparatively high metabolic activity. The possible significance of this fraction in arterial wall metabolism is discussed. La signification de cette fraction est discutàe par rapport au métabolisme de la paroi artàrielle. Frische, arteriosklerotische, Oberschenkelarterien und Bauchaorten des Menschen wurden auf ihre Fähigkeit untersucht, [1-14C]-Acetat in freien Sterinen, Phospholipiden und Neutralfetten einzubauen. Der Einbau in diesen Fraktionen war sehr beschränkt, aber es wurde eine weitere Reaktion aufgefunden, die—gebunden an einen eiweissstrukturierten Träger—eine verhältnismässig starke metabolische Aktivität zeigte. Die vermutliche Bedeutung dieser Fraktion beim Stoffwechsel in der Arterienwand wird besprochen." @default.
