- W2017476503 abstract "Abstract A geometrical treatment of the functional intergral measure for supersymmetric gauge theories is given. (Results for normal gauge theories follow as a special case.) A detailed discussion of the local geometry of the superspace of fields is presented, and it is shown how the volume element of the field space is related to the usual Faddeev-Popov prescription for the path integral quantization of gauge theories. We present a derivation of the supersymmetric generalization of the connection introduced originally by Vilkovisky in his construction of the effective action. This connection is used to construct an effective action which is covariant under a general transformation of fields in superspace. We then provide a new proof that this effective action is gauge independent, as well as independent of the arbitrary gauge condition, to all orders in perturbation theory. Applications of the formalism to Yang-Mills theory, the spin - 3 2 Rarita-Schwinger field, and a derivation of the critical dimension in string theory are given in the appendices." @default.
