- W2017507968 abstract "Abstract The discovery of superconductivity transition in Ln Fe Pn O ( Pn = P, As) compounds is of great importance in exploring new superconductors as well as understanding the mechanism. In this paper, the bonding characters in Ln Fe Pn O compounds and their relationship to the superconductivity at ambient pressure and under external pressure have been studied. The results show that the covalency of the chemical bonds is in an increased order of Ln –O Ln – Pn Pn , and this order favors the electron transfer from Ln O layers to Fe Pn layers. It is also calculated that the Ln O layers are less compressible than the Fe Pn layers. Applying an external pressure to the compounds, or doping F − in O 2 − site will increase the covalency gradient among the layers, and thus lead to a higher superconductivity transition temperature." @default.
